Golden Globes 2014

I could barely even come up with worst dresseds…There were so many fabulous dresses…ohmigosh I was dying. My worst dresseds were actually a little shocking. Maybe they were trying to take risks and they didn’t really work out? My favorite colors this awards show were surprisingly red and black. You’d think that red would sink in with the carpet, but they were all stand outs and the black dresses were amazing…Look below and tell me your favs!

Allison Williams

Elizabeth Moss

Cate Blanchett

Anna Gunn

Amy Poehler – She is killing this black dress. Simple and sophisticated with a little bit of fun.amy-poehler

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Kerry Washington – She actually looks like she could be playing Olivia Pope right now, but I glad she doesn’t look like Drew Barrymore.kerry-washington

Hayden Panettiere – not a fan of the hair, but the dress is pretty good.hayden-panettiere

Emma Watsonemma-watson

Julia Roberts julia-roberts

Julie Bowen – I actually liked this. The sleeves are a tiny bit poofy, but I love the colors together and she’s freaking tiny!julie-bowen

Sofia Vergara – I love that this is different than her usual mermaid gown. It’s like princess Sofia.sofia-vergara

Lupita-Nyonglupita-nyong

Zooey Deschanelzooey-deschanel

Sarah Hyland – I think she looks a little plain Jane here…the dress and the makeup…sarah-hyland

Jessica Chastain – Gorg as usual.jessica-chastain

Tina Fey – Different for her…still deciding if I like it or not…tina-fey

Reese Witherspoon – Slightly underwhelming, but the color makes it fantastic.reese-witherspoon

Paula Patton – I’m not entirely sure if she stole this dress from Lady Gaga, but I’m pretty sure you can see her abs through her dress. Gah. She still looks great. And there is something that I’m loving about it anyway.paula-patton

Maria Menounos – She probably has one of the best bodies ever. Kill me.maria-menounos

Kaley Cuoco

Lena Dunham – Umm she looks great! I love this…it’s still Lena, but I’m loving her!lena-dunham

Zosia Mamet – so classy for my Zosia!

Worsts

Amber Heard – This slit it worse than the Angelina from last year and I don’t know if she has animals hiding in her hair or she got electrocuted and didn’t have time to re-do it?amber-heard

Jennifer Lawrence – I’m really sad about this one. I just don’t love it. One of my friends posted a picture of her next to Ariel from the Little Mermaid when she’s in the rope and sheets…I died laughing so I had to repost. It’s true. That’s what it looks like.jennifer-lawrence612025_1294095550198_full

Heidi Klum – Twice in a row for her…I don’t know why she keeps picking ugly prints. And it’s also not the early 90’s so I don’t know where that choker came from.

heidi-klum

Drew Barrymore – Again with the bad pregnant dresses. (Drew – see Olivia Wilde). These are so unflattering and I could pick flowers off of you.

drew-barrymore

Sanda Bullock – This looks WAY too big on her and I’m not sure I love the colors together. It looks prom-ish.sandra-bullock

Zoe Saldana – There is really a lot going on here and I really don’t like any part of it. It’s just too much.
zoe-saldana

Aubrey Plaza – Purple People Eater? It doesn’t really fit her…and it looks unfinished on the bottom.
aubrey-plaza

Bests

Taylor Swift – I like this because it’s not sequined or metallic and that’s her go-to. Gorg.taylor-swift

Leslie Mann – She never does black so I’m loving this…plus the lace on top is gorgeous.leslie-mann

Mila Kunis – I love this metallic number on her. Flawless makeup as usual.mila-kunis

Jenna Dewan-Tatum – She had a baby less than a year ago…ugh. I love the detail on the dress. Not overdone.jenna-dewan-tatum

Naomi Watts – I love the way the metallic sheen hugs her in all the right places. naomi-watts-liev-schreiber

Kate Beckinsale – Don’t hate me because I’m perfect.kate-beckinsale

Olivia Wilde – Umm cutest pregnant lady ever? This color is amazing.
olivia-wilde

Michelle Dockery – She’s always so elegant. I love the shape and color on her.

Amy Adams – I love the two tone red. She looks flawless. I want her body.amy-adams

Emmy’s 2013

The Emmy’s is one of the more boring awards shows…but it doesn’t mean the fashion has to be. I didn’t think that anyone wore anything too crazy or out there, but there were a lot of dresses that I loved. You’ll see my favorites if you keep reading.

January Jones: I love this color on her. Gorgeous hair. Beautiful makeup.January Jones

Taylor Schilling: The fit of this dress is really good on her. I like it a lot, but I think it would have been gorgeous in a royal blue or green. Taylor Schilling

Heidi Klum: Gorgeous as always. I’m not sure that I love the neckline. It makes it interesting, but it would have looked fine strapless.65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Zooey Deschanel: She looks beautiful here. Not her normal quirky self, but she looks great. Zooey Deschanel

Tina Fey: This is a great color on her. Love the shape.Tina Fey

Amy Poehler: I feel like this is a little uptight for her. I wish it was brighter or her hair was loose or something.Amy Poehler

Mindy Kaling: I really like thus color on her, but I think the hairstyle is throwing me off. I wish it was just down and curled. Softer. Mindy Kaling

Elizabeth Moss: It’s not my favorite dress of all time, but I like it on her. I love the red lips and her hair.Elizabeth Moss

Aubrey Plaza: At first I was kinda like o hey pilgrim, but then I started to like it. It’s different and her makeup is gorgeous.Aubrey Plaza

Emilia Clarke: Not having the platinum hair kinda threw me, but this dress fits her like a glove.Emilia Clarke

Sofia Vergara: Love her, but it’s always the same shape! She looks amazing in red though.Sofia Vergara

Christina Hendricks: I just never totally love her for some reason, but she looks pretty classy here. I like the lace sleeve things.Christina Hendricks

Linda Cardellini: I LOVE the dress. I love the way it flows and the shape. I want to wear this.Linda Cardellini

Kiernan Shipka: This is the perfect dress for her age. So cute.Kiernan Shipka

Zosia Mamet: I keep going back and forth with this dress I kind of love the print, but I would remove the black patch on the boobs.Zosia Mamet

Worsts:

This was actually pretty hard, because there weren’t too many that I disliked, especially enough to label “worst”. So here are the ones that I didn’t like…

Emily Deschanel: I feel like this could be made from an old couch…Not my favorite fabric.092213-emily-deschanel-vegan-dress-340

Carrie Underwood: This just looks like a prom dress. She can do so much better. She has the cutest body…why wear this that doesn’t show it?65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Julieanne Hough: Her makeup and hair are amazing, but I HATE the see-through bottom. It makes her look like shes wearing a diaper under there.Julianne Hough

Anna Farris: I like the shape of the dress, but hate the color on her. I also hate her hair an the lips don’t match the dress.Anna Faris

Connie Britton: I love her, but I do not like the velvet or the print.Connie Britton

Cat Deeley: Ok she looks like she just got out of the shower first of all and she’s trying very hard to be seductive. I don’t like this at all. Maybe on like Kate Moss it would work, but I doubt she would wear this.Cat Deeley

Lena Dunham: Nothing about this is right. I don’t like the print, especially in the fall, and her eyes are so dark. If you look closely they are blue…at least do it grey and smokey…not blue with the blue dress.Lena Dunham

Bests:

Allison Williams: Unbelievable. So simple, but so gorgeous. Love it.Allison Williams

Michelle Dockery: I love the colors and the simplicity of this as well. She is always one of my favorites.Michelle Dockery

Kate Mara: I just think she is beautiful. I love the top of this dress.Kate Mara

Rose Byrne: She is freaking tiny right now! Loving the blush tone and her curly hair. Gorg.Rose Byrne

Robin Wright: I love the top of this dress too. I’m really loving the more simple dresses tonight, but they look more classic. Robin Wright

Kerry Washington: She’s one of my top fashion icons right now. I don’t think she ever has a miss. Amazing.Kerry Washington

Claire Danes: I love this fabric. When she was on stage this dress looked so amazing. The color looks so good on her skin. Claire Danes

The Met Gala 3013

I cannot tell you how much I loved the outfits this year. The theme made it so fun – Punk: Chaos to Couture. Loved it! You’ll be able to tell that I had a really hard time narrowing down the outfits to post, and especially my favorites. I had so many. Of course there were some pretty bad ones, but there were some AMAZING outfits this year. You kind of have to keep in mind the theme for some of them though, because they might seem kind of out there, but they totally fit the night. And some were great dresses, but then I didn’t like them because they were so plain! If you have a party with a theme, why not go all out for it?! After all the Met Gala is a Costume Party. It seemed like everyone who was anyone was there. I would have died to be able to go to something like this. I can’t wait to see if you agree with my picks or not! Anyway, here you go!
Instagram-Pictures-Met-Gala-2013

Mary Kate Olsen: I think I would like the dress underneath, but she looks horribly old in this picture, and I think she took a fortune teller’s coat and attached her dog to it. Mary-Kate Olsen met gala

Oscar After Party Outfits

So usually I don’t really do a big post on the after-party outfits, but there were some pretty good ones for this year’s Oscars, so why not? I think most of the people who wore my favorite dresses for the show ended up wearing my favorites for the after parties also…For me my favorites were (and not necessarily in this order)…

1. Jennifer Lawrence

2. Naomi Watts

3. Amy Adams

4. Lily Collins

5. Kate Bosworth

6. Diane Krueger

7. Amanda Seyfriend

8. Nina Dobrev

I know that’s a lot, but there were so many good ones, and a lot of people who weren’t at the Oscars, but came after! Let me know who your favorites were!

Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein; Ohmigosh I love this just as much as her Oscar dress. It’s fluid and gorgeous. Everything looks so good on her.oscars-afterparty-dresses-jennifer-lawrence-h724

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta; Wow…again…which one of her dresses do I like more? I guess when you’re nominated you get to pick from the best. Beautiful!oscars-afterparty-dresses-amy-adams-h724

Naomi Watts in Emilio Pucci; Absolutely love this too. She looked fabulous in both of her dresses tonight. Loved!oscars-afterparty-dresses-naomi-watts-h724

Anne Hathaway in YSL; I can’t decide if I like this dress better or worse than the one she wore to the show. This one doesn’t flatter her figure at all, but I like the color better. The other one was just so plain and blah. This one is just shapeless. I didn’t like her choices at all. Maybe she’s pregnant?anne-hathaway-oscars-after-parties

Selena Gomez in Versace; This isn’t really my favorite. I feel like she’s trying to look a lot older than she is. It’s a pretty dress, but I wish she would have worn something more fun and in a bright color!selenagomez

Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad; I love this! I love the two different prints and the color!lilycolins

Kate Bosworth in Giambattista Valli; Gorg! I am glad that she wore a short dress and I love her hair! One of my favs! kateb

Solange in Emilio Pucci; Love the dress! Hate the hair! It’s not bouncy enough…it looks like it’s falling over or else I would love it.solange

Natalie Portman in Dior; Simple and sweet and beautiful. She always looks perfect.natalieportman

Georgina Chapman in Marchesa; I love Marchesa…and if you can look this pretty when you’re pregnant…wow.georginachapman

Hilary Swank in Valentino; I really like this dress, but I would have picked something a little bit less heavy looking for a party. I mean it’s red and fun, and has the light material on top, but I think the train and the long sleeves makes it look a little bit heavier than I would like. It’s gorgeous though.oscars-afterparty-dresses-hillary-swank-h724

Olivia Munn in Marchesa; While I think the dress is pretty…It seems to be missing some pieces…lol (and I didn’t even show it from the side). The detailing is amazing though.2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter - Arrivals

Kate Beckinsale in Monique Lhuillier; I love this look! So fun and not too serious. So perfect for a party!oscars-afterparty-dresses-kate-beckinsale-h724

Kourtney Kardashian in Brian Renne and Kim Kardashian in Donna Karen; honestly I don’t know how the Karsdashian’s get into anything important, but I think Kourtney is hilarious so I’ll forgive that…I do think her dress is a little bit too long though. If it was a bit shorter I would love it. Or even all the way to the floor would be better. I think that Kim’s fits better with the event. I don’t really like her white shoes. I think it would look better if they were gold. I just don’t know why she’s even there! oscars-afterparty-dresses-kardashian-sisters-h724

Miranda Kerr in Valentino; I think this dress is very different, but I like it! miranda-kerr-290

Elizabeth Banks in Alexander McQueen; Such a fun dress! I loved it! Orange is hard to pull off, but it looked beautiful. I love this material for spring. I did not really like her hair though. It was too high in the front and slicked on the sides. elizabeth-banks-290

Diane Krueger in Giambattista Valli; Ohmigosh I absolutely love this. I think it’s one of my favorites because it’s so different! It’s fun and cute, but sophisticated in a way also! I love actually love the width and sleeves.diane-kruger-290

Heidi Klum; Umm I don’t really know what to say about this, but I don’t like any of it…the dress, the cleavage, the hair…ugh. I think it makes her look chubby…and “The Body” is anything but.heidi-klum-290

Zooey Deschanel in Valentino; Usually I really like her funky style, but I didn’t like this. It looked like a sparkly sister wive.zooey-deschanel-290

Nina Dobrev in Naeem Khan; She is seriously so pretty. I swear everything looks good on her. I love this print.nina-dobrev-290

Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy; I’m in love with this dress that she performed in and then wore to the after parties! It totally stands out against her skin and I love the strappy details! amanda-seyfried-290

Britney Spears in Michael Cinco Couture; I actually like her hair brown here and the dress isn’t too bad either.britney-spears-290

Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhullier; I love this whole look! Exactly what I would wear to a party!ginnifer-goodwin-290

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy; This almost reminds me of a nightgown of some sort, but I definitely like it more that the dress she wore earlier in the night. zoe-saldana-290

2012 Emmy’s

O Awards shows!!!! YAY!!! I love love love seeing all of the gown choices! It’s like Christmas…or something 🙂

This year I didn’t have too many that I hated so that’s always good, I guess, but less to make fun of 🙂  There was a lot of blue and yellow, which is fabulous because I HEART yellow so much right now!!! I like the Emmy’s because I think you can still be really fun with your dresses and be a little bit light-hearted with them. It’s still hot outside, but it is technically fall.

So anyway, here are some of the dresses that I thought stood out the most, some of the ones I did kind of hate, and my FAVS of course! Enjoy!!!

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier: Not my all time favorite because I felt like the dress was sooo open…I mean it IS technically fall Heidi! But the color was sooo pretty on her. I just wish she had done her hair up to dress it up a tiny bit more.

Mindy Kaling in St. John: I think the color is great on her, but not the fit. She should have done something to accentuate her shape a little bit. The belt tried, but overall the dress didn’t do a lot for her. On the other hand, watch The Mindy Project…HILARIOUS!

Lucy Liu in Versace: I thought she looked so good! A little like a disco ball, but the fit was perfect for her!

Sarah Hyland in Marchesa: I think she is so cute! She looks great, but sometimes I wish she would take a risk! She is so young, why not try out something crazy.

Sophia Vergara in Zuhair Murad: I think she looks fabulous, and who else could pull this off, but it does slightly make me think mermaid…not necessarily a bad thing though.

Kat Dennings in J.Mendel: I just don’t love this. It’s not worst dressed at all, but I just don’t think it’s great. It looks like everything is just being pulled down. I do think the color looks good though.

Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra: She is just the cutest thing ever. She looks like a little funky princess or something and it totally fits her personality. Love it.

Tina Fey in Vivienne Westwood: She always wears black, and this is so pretty on her! The fit is great and I love her makeup!

Allison Williams in Oscar de la Renta: This dress is fabulous! I love the color and the shape.

Claire Danes in Lanvin: She looks so amazing, and for being pregnant on top of that! If you look at compared to the model, it makes the model look pregnant, so it was the perfect pick!

Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa: This dress was gorgeous. I loved it because it was so interesting and different from most of the others. I just wish it made her look a little bit taller!

January Jones in Zac Posen: I wanted to love this so much because it is such an interesting, fun dress, but I HATED the way she slicked back her hair and didn’t do a red lip or a darker eye or something. It just looked plain. I think I would have been in love with the dress if the hemline had been long all the way around. I didn’t love the high-low hem.

WORSTS:

Elisabeth Moss in Dolce & Gabbana: I just did not like this. I thought it made her look bigger than she was. It’s a spring, floral print dress, and I don’t like the hemline again. She should have gone a little bit more glam for the Emmy’s. Not my fav.

Kristen Wigg in Balenciaga: Really? Did you just come from a beach party? What are you wearing? I did not like this at all. Way too dressed down and I thought it made her look really pale.

Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrera: Is she trying to re-make her prom night? Cuz this is a little scary. Hate the dress, hate the pin, hate the hair. Sorry.

Nicole Kidman in Antonio Berardi: I just thought this was boring for her. Usually she has these fabulous dresses and this one did not do anything for her. If any of you watch Fashion Police, they showed this with the jacket that it was made with and it was stunning…but she kinda ruined it by taking the jacket off…Portia de Rossi in Valentino: Hands down worst. The color totally washes her out, the pants are too short, and Ellen is already wearing pants. O not to mention that I have no idea if her hair is supposed to be like wild and crazy or slicked back and it’s just not staying down. I hated it.

BESTS!

Emilia Clarke in Chanel: I totally loved this dress. It is so cute and fun! I absolutely LOVE the shape!

Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan: I wasn’t sure about this at first, but the more I look at it the more I love it. I love the detail at the top, and of course I’m obsessed with mustard right now. I think her turquoise jewelry is the perfect accent. Plus the dress has pockets! WHAT! Awesome!

Julieanne Moore in Christian Dior: A lot of people were divided on this dress. I loved it because I thought she was such a great person to wear it. She in great shape, but she’s getting older and probably doesn’t want to show all of her skin off. I just loved the shape of it. (and the color) Plus her makeup looked amaze.

Padma Lakshmi in Monique Lhuillier: Really? Do I have to explain why I love this? Perfect fit.

Emily VanCamp in J.Mendel: I thought this was the perfect dress for her because she is so dainty and polished. I loved it! I like the color and the details so much!

Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier: As everyone’s been saying…”girl on fire”. Ohmigosh I can’t get over the details on this dress. So gorgeous. I’m so glad she went out on a limb and did something different. And I DO like the hemline because you can see her gorgeous shoes! Plus is doesn’t come up too high.

Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier: Another fabulous Monique Lhuiller. I think I’ve had three in my best dressed. I am dying over the bright neon and how great it fits her. Plus I think this is so different from what she usually wears. Between her and Ginnifer Goodwin, these two are my favs!

Golden Globes 2012

Elle McPherson
I think I’m regretting not putting her on my best dressed now. The only reason I didn’t was because it slightly resembled a wedding dress…but she looks amazing.

Heidi Klum
I thought she looked great and I loved the necklace.

Charlize Theron
Not sure how I feel about this dress, but she looks good in everything. I never see pick anything terrible.

Sophia Vergara
I really like this. I love the bottom.

Julie Bowen
This looks like a dress that Taylor Swift would wear and I don’t like her hair, but it’s not the worst thing ever.

Natalie Portman
I think she looks gorgeous, but she looks a little bit plain. The color is pretty on her though.

Paula Patton
I love this. That’s all.

Claire Danes
I think this is super interesting. I didn’t love the front, but I like the back a lot.

Emma Stone
Gorgeous and I love the color…I just don’t know what’s up with the belt. It looks like a cowboy/western thing…?

Angelina Jolie
I almost put her on the worst dressed…Fashion Police loved it and I did NOT. I thought it washed her out and made her body look funny. I thought her face looked super harsh too. But it wasn’t as bad as the ones I picked for worst.

Amber Riley
I actually really liked this on her. I think she looked really good. The dress fit her so well.

Dianna Agron
I actually kind of liked this. A lot of people didn’t, but I thought it was way different and fun.

Evan Rachel Wood
I can’t decide about this dress. She looks like a giant snake-peacock, but I sort of like it in a weird way…but I would never wear it.

Nicole Kidman
This dress fit her perfectly, but it makes her look so white. I think the dress is pretty, just not on her.

Mila Kunis
I think she looks pretty, but its not my favorite. She looks better in a colored dress and I like her better with a little bit of light in her hair.

Nicole Richie
I actually love this. And her hair. I also thought about this for best dressed, but it was a tiny bit loose so I didn’t.

Lea Michele
I just can’t decide. I think this would look so much better on someone else. It’s too old for her. She’s trying to hard, but she still looks so pretty.

Selma Hayek
I actually really like this. It’s totally different and fun.

Sarah Hyland
I always like the dresses she picks out. She’s so cute. I love the lace around the center.

Zooey Deschanel
I love this dress, but I don’t like her hair. I wish it was totally straight or up. The dress is perfect for her.

Worst Dressed
Rooney Mara
She always looks so angry and bored. And this is the most predictable dress for her. It looks the same as all the other ones she has worn recently. I didn’t like the whole look.

Jessica Biel
This makes me sad cuz she is so pretty, but she looks like a polygamist.

Kate Winslet
For some reason, overall I just didn’t like her tonight. The dress was boring and didn’t flatter her.

Madonna
Ummm…too tight. Weird. Glove? Are you Michael Jackson? What’s with the necklace?

Sarah Michelle Gellar
Is this for real a tie-dye dress? Did she spill a slushie on it? It’s also the size of Jupiter.

Tilda Swinton
I just think she’s so weird. She could wear something normal.

Best Dressed
Kate Beckinsale
She is perfect. I love the shape of this dress. Everything about this is flawless.

Jessica Alba
Again…perfection. I have nothing to complain about.

Kristin Wigg
Some people may disagree with me, but she looks so good. This is perfect on her. I love that it’s all so simple.

George and Stacey
She is very simple, but if he anywhere in the picture we’re good to go.

Reese Witherspoon
I LOVE this. Her hair. The shape. The color. She looks amazing.
